RRRA was officially formed on the 29 May 1987, following a series of meetings by Recovery Operators during 1986 where the conceptional idea of the formation of a Democratic Association was discussed. An initial exploratory meeting between Pete Newman, Dave Weeks and Peter Cosby in the early part of 1986 had now come to fruition and The Road Rescue Recovery Association was born.
A general consensus was agreed upon that the Association would be representative of Recovery Operators (large and small) and would address industry issues and negotiate with Government, Official bodies, Motoring Organisations on relevant matters.
Your National Council currently has representation at the APPG Freight Transport Committee in Westminster, The NRITG, NHSS 17 Main Committee, EWG, Heavy Rescue Partnership Charity, SMMT, IMI, Survive as well as many sub committees relevant to the industry for the benefit of its members. Current issue representation is ongoing including Fuel Increases, Training Issues, Testing, Lighting Regulations, Licensing and MID we are actively involved in relevant consultations on your behalf.
Projects scheduled for 2012 include enhanced member services; these will be in the news section of our website and magazine. Visit the news pages -equipment sales - recruitment pages or join the RRRA members forum online now.
We are unceasingly working hard on your behalf, to maintain the original aim of a truly Democratic Association.
